Mad Roaster’s Slow Bar- Singapore

Who loves a good cup of coffee? I do.

If there is a drink that I enjoy for it’s variability, it would be coffee. From the variety of beans, roasting and brewing styles, each cup has such versatility depending on so many factors alone.

At Mad Roaster’s Slow Bar, you not only get a variety of coffee styles to cater to all appreciative fans, some carefully crafted to pay homage to local Singaporean classics. Starting with a noble cause to support refugees through on-the-ground NGO partners, Mad Roaster’s not only raises awareness of refugee stories on their coffee cups but also creates livelihoods for refugees.

In variety in food options mirrors the varieties of coffee available at their venue and conversation with their staff present was an added highlight to the morning as we discussed the technical details around their dishes and kitchen techniques.

Chocolate Babka Slice

The chocolate babka was warm hug, not overly decadent for morning consumption- after all, who does not love a fluffy chocolate pastry when paired with an excellent coffee?

Bone Marrow Breakfast Plate

This breakfast plate brings a touch of richness to the table with a well-roasted and aromatic marrow, yet reminiscent enough of breakfast across cultures with a simple enough combination of bread and soft boiled eggs.

Prawn Bisque Spaghettini

The prawn bisque spaghettini was light, the calamansi a delightful addition of acid to a well-balanced dish.

The sous vide prawns were firm and sweet, allowing us to enjoy the freshness and meaty texture of the prawn.

If you’re in the market for an early morning spent in the accompaniment of good food, excellent coffee and even better conversation, Mad Roaster’s Slow Bar is an excellent pick for a weekend brunch venue and I find myself eager to visit again to try more of their menu.
